The Attica Botanical Park welcomes students from all over Greece to explore the area and make their first acquaintance with our country’s rich flora.
Educational programs, implemented throughout the school year by the Park Team's trained instructors, are designed to raise children’s environmental awareness. Scientists and professionals with different areas of expertise (teachers, environmentalists, agriculturists, botanists, beekeepers, artists, writers, landscape architects, etc.) have worked together to create a pleasant, creative and nurturing learning environment and encourage children's interaction with nature.
We wish to "plant" the seed of love for nature in children's hearts!

EXPLORING THE ATTICA BOTANICAL PARK
How do we keep our ecosystem in balance?
What is the ecosystem? Why are plants vital to our planet, to animals and humans? How do plants grow? What are weeds? What happens during the composting process? How do we plant in pots?
In a specially designed natural environment, children play and learn, observe and discover, touch and create, act as a team and collaborate. They gather useful information for making their own plant pot, which they will later take home.

AGRICULTURISTS TO THE PLANET'S RESCUE
Learn about the plant life cycle!
The year is 2314. A few of the surviving plants on Earth are alive at the Attica's Botanical Park. Should they extinct, life will disappear. Study the notes of the agriculturalist, learn important knowledge about the life cycle of plants and take action!
How do plants grow? What is hidden inside a seed? Under what conditions does a seed germinate? What’s inside a flower? Who are nature’s pollinators? Are there male and female flowering plants? How do crops spread naturally? Engage in riddle, skill and gardening activities and let the adventure begin! Will you save the world of plants?

COMPOSTING
From organic waste into natural fertilizer
What is compost? What materials are suitable for composting? What small animals do we need to feed to make nutritious compost?
Through teamwork and experiential activities, children are invited to discover and collect materials, suitable for composting, follow the instructions for placing them in the special bin, meet the industrious earthworms and finally place compost in the Park's flower beds.

Where is inspiration hiding? How is art connected to nature? What stories do light and shadows tell? Observation is the artist's most important tool!
We will record all our observations in a personal journal and we will be led by Nature on the path of creation. Just like impressionists, inspired by Nature’s gifts, we will create our own tools and artworks.

CHRISTMAS IN THE BOTANICAL PARK
Christmas games and crafts
The Christmas Elves visited the Attica’s Botanical Park. They played hide and seek in the salvias, picked herbs for Santa's festive meal, told Christmas stories to the birds and left in a hurry to prepare the children's gifts. Τhey even left original and creative tasks for our little ones.

The Carnival of Nature
The Carnival of Nature is being prepared at the Attica’s Botanical Park. Snails decorate their antennas, spiders organize games with their webs, butterflies set up a maypole dance, ladybirds create music and songs, and ants gather ingredients to prepare special treats for all the guests.
Put on your Carnival spirit and join us for a special celebration! Let’s get crowned Queens and Kings of the Carnival of Nature with a fabulous handmade crown, out of the Park’s natural materials!

AUTUMN ADVENTURE AT THE ATTICA BOTANICAL PARK
Searching with Tip Toup for the lost acorn
Come and experience the magic of autumn and discover the hidden beauties of the Attica Botanical Park through the eyes of the squirrel, Tip Toup! Searching for an acorn among the fallen leaves, pruned trees, and freshly moist soil, children embark on an adventure filled with play, sensory experiences, and seasonal gardening activities. Will they be able to find the coveted fruit?
Implementation period: September-October-November

LITTLE GARDENERS
Children observe and take care of the Park
What is the Botanical Park? Which professional takes care of all these beautiful and various plants? How do plants feed? What similarities and differences can you notice in the numerous types of plants? What plant name sounds strange to you? What are the medicinal properties of lavender? Can you identify aromatic plants by their smell? What are aquatic and water plants? What information can you get by observing trees? Can you discover the oldest olive tree in the Botanical Park? Where can you grow a plant? Are you ready to plant and look after your own pot?
In a specially designed natural environment, children play and learn, observe, touch and create, act as a team and collaborate. They discover the botany collections, the olive grove, the lavender garden and the aromatic plants. They gather useful information for growing and keeping healthy plants and for making their own plant pot, which they will later take home.

THE FIVE SENSES
Save the King of Leaves!
Can you discover the spearmint in the Botanic flowerbed? How many colours and shades can you distinguish in the Botany Collections? Will you be able to listen to the words, coming from the birds and trees in the bamboo forest? How can you discover something soft, something hard, something sharp and something shiny in the privet hedge maze? Where do you have to look to find something sour and something bitter? In the vegetable garden or in the orchard?
Activate all your senses to gather the necessary ingredients and information, so as to create the magic potion that will set the King of Leaves free.

A SMALL WORLD IN THE ATTICA BOTANICAL PARK
The great value of small animals for the ecosystem
Among the bushes and tree foliage, around the flowers, by the lake and deep in the earth… The animal kingdom of the Attica Botanical Park is everywhere! Can you identify the sounds of the insects? Why do bees fly so eagerly every morning around the lavender trees? What happens inside the countless ant hills? Who upsets the ladybugs?
Through an interactive walk of observation and discovery, children will have the opportunity to understand the importance of small animals for the ecosystem and capture it on a clay "fossil" memento.

RECYCLING
From natural resources to reusing
Τhe recycled robot ReCycle comes to the Attica Botanical Park to help children collect useful information about recycling. What can be recycled? What are the raw materials used for packaging? What materials can we reuse? Why is it important to recycle?
Puzzles and challenges create an experiential and playful environmental awareness program.
